Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Massey, West Auckland

Gentle bodywork that supports the lymphatic system and releases tension.

Gentle manual drainage along the lymphatic pathways, combined with acupressure. A 45-minute session — recommended after injury or surgery, for chronic fatigue, and for tension that won't release on its own.

Lymphatic massage works by gently stimulating the body's lymphatic system — the network responsible for draining fluid, clearing waste, and supporting immune function. When lymph flow slows down, the signs are familiar: puffiness, heaviness in the limbs, dull or congested skin, and a persistent sluggishness that rest alone won't fix. At Little Clinic we combine manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) with targeted acupressure at points that support fluid regulation and internal organ function. The touch is light and rhythmic — nothing like deep tissue work — but the effect is real: fluid moves, tension releases, and most patients leave feeling noticeably lighter. Common reasons people come in: post-surgical swelling (particularly after joint surgery, liposuction, or cosmetic procedures), post-injury oedema, chronic puffiness in the face or legs, sinus congestion, skin conditions linked to poor drainage, immune support during or after illness, and general fatigue or heaviness that has no clear cause. The session is deeply relaxing; many patients sleep better for days afterwards.

What it helps with

Pain & movement

Acute issues often resolve in two to four sessions; chronic or post-injury cases across eight to twelve.

  • Plantar fasciitis

Sharp heel pain first thing in the morning or after long rest. We release the local fascia with needling and warm the tight calf chain — most patients are walking pain-free within 3–5 sessions.

  • Frozen shoulder

Adhesive capsulitis — a stiff, restricted shoulder that worsens at night. Acupuncture combined with careful range-of-motion work over 6–10 sessions typically restores most movement.

  • Back and neck pain

Whether from posture, injury, or stress-related tension, we treat both the local muscle and the underlying meridian. Herbal formulas support recovery when pain is chronic.

  • Sciatica

Nerve referral pain down the leg, often from lumbar or piriformis compression. We work the path of the channel from hip to foot — sharp shooting pain usually eases within the first few visits.

  • Post-stroke recovery

Regular acupuncture — often twice weekly — combined with herbal formulas supports motor recovery, speech, and swallowing. Best begun as early as the medical team permits.

  • Joint pain & arthritis

Knees, hips, hands, ankles — degenerative or inflammatory. We reduce local heat or cold, free the channels, and use moxa where the joint runs cold. Herbs nourish underlying weakness.

  • Spinal stenosis

Narrowing of the spinal canal causing leg pain or numbness on walking. Acupuncture eases the inflammatory component and improves circulation along the channel; herbs support the kidney-meridian root.

  • Scoliosis

Functional or structural curvature. We work the over-tight side and support the weakened side, easing the muscular pain that comes with the curve. We coordinate with physiotherapy where active correction is in play.

  • Disc protrusion

Herniated or bulging disc compressing the nerve. Acupuncture and moxa reduce the inflammatory pain and free the path of the channel. Most patients see meaningful relief inside 4–8 sessions; we always coordinate with imaging when surgery is being weighed.

Internal & systemic

Constitutional work — usually paired with a course of herbs and lifestyle guidance across 2–4 weeks.

  • Hypertension & diabetes support

We work alongside your GP and medications, not in place of them. Korean herbal formulas help stabilise readings, ease side-effects, and address the underlying pattern — we never advise stopping prescribed medicines.

  • Menopause

Hot flushes, night sweats, mood shifts, and sleep disruption all respond well to constitutional formulas and acupuncture. Most patients feel a shift within 2–3 weeks of starting herbs.

  • Digestive disorders

Reflux, bloating, IBS-type presentations, and chronic indigestion. Traditional Korean medicine treats digestion as the root of energy — correcting it often resolves fatigue and sleep issues in parallel.

  • Chronic fatigue

Post-viral, burnout-related, or unexplained exhaustion. We look at digestion, sleep, and emotional load together and build up strength gently — too fast a tonic can worsen things.

  • Sleep disturbance

Difficulty falling asleep, early waking, or waking through the night all point to different patterns. Treatment is pattern-specific and often shows first results within a week.

  • Cancer recovery support

We support patients through and after oncology treatment — easing chemotherapy-induced nausea, fatigue, and neuropathy with gentle acupuncture and constitutional herbs. We never replace your oncologist's plan; we coordinate with them.

  • Bladder infection (UTI)

Recurring UTIs and chronic cystitis. Acupuncture and clearing herbs help reduce frequency and ease the burning urgency between flares. Acute infections still need GP review and antibiotics where indicated.

  • Autoimmune conditions

Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's, psoriasis. We treat the inflammatory pattern beneath the diagnosis, ease pain and fatigue, and work alongside your specialist's medication plan.
